A few of my favourite things!

All this summer cheerfulness makes the drab grey days go a little faster, warms me up inside and makes me smile! x
Jugs of pretty home grown flowers.
Some of beautiful flowers from our garden in full summer bloom!

Hehe I'm not sure about this one? Other than it makes me chuckle . . . . . . . What a face Molly!
And of course yummy home made summer shakes! Mmm.
Just a few of my favourite things, to brighten up those dark winter days xx

Hooky happenings!

Very shortly I am hoping to reveal my latest hooky finish but for now I shall give you a sneak-a-peek and leave you to guess what it will turn into?
I really am enjoying the cheerful colour choice given the weather at the moment, which is not so nice :-(
Well I must get on, so many ideas to get hooking! 😃

Cushion Ta-Dah! And hooky treats

After some debating and soul searching about the colours I decided to finish my cushion cover, I'm sooo glad I did! Here it is, in all its bright and beautiful glory. Every time I look at it, it makes me smile.
So from this drab and dreary cushion. . . . .to this Ta-Dah!
I really truly do love it sooo much it just makes me smile!
And I saw this sweet little tin of crochet goodness on ebay and just had to have, have, have it!! I can't wait to get hooking. But for now I really must finish a couple of works in progress, more about those later.
So until later!
Bye for now x

Hooky Dilemma

I started this hooky project at the beginning of the summer holidays, only now its nearly finished I'm not so sure I like it.

In case you are wondering its a cushion cover or its going to be a cushion cover and that quite simply is my dilemma! To finish it or not? Consign it to the thrift shop bag or not? Is it simply too bright to take pride of place on the sofa or should I have chosen something more subtle?

All opinions on this matter are gratefully received xx

Exploring

We decided to explore in the gorgeous summer sun! We concluded no adventure would be complete without Woody the dog tagging along.

Hamish found the lily pads fascinating and started talking about frogs. Which got him wondering how they balance on them and whether or not they sink with the weight of the frogs.
I found his conversation charming and giggle worthy.
We paused to take in the wildlife and the amazing views.
I just have to say it turned out to be a blisteringly hot day! So we cut our adventure a little short in order to make a vital ice-cream stop on the way home ;-)

Graduation 2014

                                       Graduation 2014

Well my graduation finally arrived last month after two years of highs and lows, tears and tantrums.
The last two years has been the most amazing journey and some very special friendships have been formed.
The weather didn't let us down either, it was a glorious sunny evening. By the end of the evening emotions were very mixed, as a group we have shared a big part of our lives and supported each other through so much.
 And now onto the next chapter in my life . . . . . . I can't wait!

Summery things

Some lovely hand picked flowers from the our garden.
I love and adore sunflowers and this year we have plenty of them growing in our garden, a little bit of summer indoors.
We've spent a few of the lovely hot summery days that we've been blessed with at the beach.
And where would we be without indulging in a little strawberry picking and Hamish offered to help turn some of it into jam!
Hamish loved mashing the strawberries and went just a little wild and started to get it all over the kitchen.
My little cooking assistant offered to help bake some delicious onion bread. He really does love baking.
And I even managed to fit in a little sewing and crochet in between all the other things we've been busy doing. I just love the summer holidays, not having to rush round and get ready for school.

How time flies!

How time flies! It has been sometime since I posted on my blog but it has been an incredibley busy year.
I am nearly at the end of my first year of study and once we break up for the holidays I plan on indulging  in my hobbies and of course updating my reader's.
Ooh how I miss sewing, knitting and crochet all the things I love to do!
Sadly I have no pretty pictures of creatitvity to show and inspire you, but I have recently completed a very small make. . . . an owly cross sttich make that I am rather thrilled with!
Well there are only sooo many books you can read before your brain becomes swamped by it all.
I shall have course share my most meager make with you very soon!

Hamish went for  a cool bat design.Lots of help required.
A close up of Hamish's pumpkin.

Hooky blanket Ta-Dah finally!

This blanket has been a long time in the making but finally it's finished and I wanted to share it with you!
I must say I feel a huge sense of achievement as this is my largest crochet projecct to date and probably my most daring in terms of colour.
I've also been busy on a small scale crocheting these lovely roses for a future project if I ever get time in between my current studies. The pattern for these lovely little flowers can be found over at Lucy's blog Attic24.
And I thought you might love this picture,Hamish did a sponsored welly walk at school on friday and this is him in my new wellies on friday morning. He had been really excited all week about doing the walk and I must say he did really well for someone who normally grumbles about walking the dog any distance ;-)

A few things have happened recently,Hamish started big school in September and here he is on his first day with his big sister.
And a new arrival/addition to our cosy little family, this little ball of fur is called Gizmo and Gizzie for short and I can tell you I feel so stupid shouting Gizzie,Gizzie,Gizzie in a high pitch voice when she won't come.Lol!
And did you guess what it was I was making, this was part pictured in  a previous post.So you see not really alot to report here! And I'm saddened to say I won't have much time over the coming months for my little piece of blogland as I have under taken a new course of study,so let me apologise in advance for neglecting all my followers. But I will try to post a little something as often as life will allow ;-)

Floral prettiness

Some of the beautiful flower's growing in our garden at the moment. The one above is a new one this year.
We have quite a collection of dahlia's in the garden these are just one or two of them.
Poor old Hamish having a haircut,he really does hate having it done so this time I did it much shorter in the hope it last's a little longer. . . . . . .Oh mummy you should've gone to spec-savers!
And a little baking this delicious banana and ginger loaf. . . .Mmmm!I borrowed the recipe off my lovely neighbour, who also supplied some over ripe banana's.
And just a little crochet! But I realise looking back through my blog posts that I have forgotten to show you my lovely little Cath Kidston tapestry project now it's finished, plus a small quilting project and a little hooky hanging.Lot's in the pipe line and a few finishes ;-)
